Our 2013 Peugeot Boxer

About this vehicle

Recently, we have acquired a number of Peugeot boxers from the St John’s ambulance service. The later, ULEZ compliant Peugeot boxers have their issues, however the older shape, pre euro 6 versions of these vans are proving to be very good going into their second phase of life!

With this being a 2013 model, it isnt Euro 6 so perfect for someone not needing to enter the ULEZ zones at any point!

The good stuff

• As is the rule with 99% of ambulances, they come standard with insulation, fibreglass clad walls, a diesel heater, lighting and plenty of storage
• but if you look beyond that, and think of the bare van itself, they are kept meticulously by the St John’s ambulance service, always getting what they need, when its needed.
• Therefore, even if you take away the many advantages of buying an ambulance, you will still be getting a better van than its standard, panel van counterpart with shady maintenance that has carried heavy machinery and concrete all its life, for example.
• Before driving this vehicle, I wasnt so keen on the Peugeots myself. However when we aquired the van, my mind was soon changed.
• I personally have driven this vehicle for around 3 hours. The first thing i noticed is how well this van holds up in towns, and other built up areas, aswell as being a comfortable joy along the B roads, whilst using little over an eighth of a tank of fuel without touching a motorway.
• The 6 speed gearbox is very well, with each gear able to be selected smoothly, and when in gear the van pulls well giving good power and torque when required.
