Mercedes Atego (Vario)

About this Library Bus

Brilliant base vehicle here on offer, running the legendary and sort after running gear found in the famous Mercedes Vario vans.

Ownership

This vehicle has been owned and operated from new by the Council, where it has been maintained by them since coming into use in 2004.

Onboard spec

Since the vehicle was used as a library bus the vehicle comes equipped with items that will help out if you wish to convert this into a Campervan. This includes the following:

1. On board heating system, that used the vehicles main fuel tank as a fuel source.
2. Three Ceiling mounted skylights, which provide lots of natural light into the vehicle and are supported by fans which supply fresh air into the vehicle. Since these are mounted equally throughout the length of the vehicle there is good distribution of clean air access.
3. Ceiling lights (24v).

Since this a HGV, the vehicle operated on 24v electrics. This is consistent with the rear of the van for the auxiliary features. There is also 240v hook-up on the vehicle, which will charge the on-board batteries and also supply power to the 240v sockets in the rear of the van.

Please note all of these items have been tested.

MOT and Servicing 

• The truck has an MOT until 31 August 2024.
• There were some advisories that were picked up by the tester at this time. These advisories were to do with surface corrosion. We have since taken this back and protected the chassis with under-seal to ensure this issue is future proofed for the near future.
• The engine has received a service by ourselves and with the 4250cc engine being chain driven there’s no concerns!
• The front tyres were manufactured in 2019 and therefore are MOT compliant for another 5 years!
