About this vehicle

► Body Type

A very rare configuration here, with this van having not only twin side loading doors, but it also has a tailgate on the back, opposed to the more common barn door configuration seen on every other transit we have in the yard.

We can only assume this is a special order made by the fire service with how rare this version is. Its a semi high roof, so not bad, but not the best where standing height is concerned, I can just stand up in it at around 5ft 8, but anyone taller than myself may struggle once you install insulation, roofing or whatever else you may please.

⛽ Engine and transmission

Recently by us, some work has been carried out on this vehicle, it has had:
● A brand new tyre (near side front)
● Auxiliary belt and tensioner
● Power steering belt
● A full service

❓ One issue we have stumbled across is that this vehicle is prone to jumping out of 1st gear at times, however the rest of the gearbox and clutch including reverse feel as if it just rolled out the factory.

We have deemed it a good fit for any tradesman, looking for a reliable base to run a business from.

❓ Past life

Formerly being a service vehicle for the fire service, this van has lived a relatively stress free life when compared to some other vehicles from the same force. It hasnt lugged around heavy machinery or large amounts of water its whole life, and its been essential for this van to be dependable whenever it may be needed.

❗ The average mileage for a van that has been driven for 11 years is between 132,000 and 154,000, so this van is some 30,000 miles below average, sitting on 102,000 warranted miles.

❗Chassis and bodywork

Upon inspection we are beginning to realise that this van is a good find, and the underneath condition very clean, not very often seen as this generation of transit is known for its potentially tragic rust issues.

Very minimal cosmetic issues either, not a dent in sight, and the fire service red colour has a stunning shine to it even now, with no chips or other problems in the paintwork.

⛽ Drivability

As is normal for a transit, the engine is very good, throttle response and drivability is as youd expect from the typical, Front engined RWD setups these transits are known for.

A small turning circle, very easy to park, not too taxing to drive and the car-like feeling whilst behind the wheel is a huge bonus that comes with these vehicles.

⭐ Interior ⭐

These vans are quite spacious in the cab, when compared to the competitors such as Renault Vauxhall, or Peugeot, Fiat and, Citroens vans, this usually comes at a cost of space in the living area behind, however thanks to the boxy design on these transits they remain spacious in both areas, creating the perfect base van.

⛽ MOT
This vehicle has just passed a mot as of 15/12/23, with no advisories. This MOT expires on 14 dec 2024.
