This van is a 2011 Fiat Ducato 3.0, ex variety club bus. The best engine you can get in these, with stunning bodywork and modest mileage!

Mechanical

We all love the shape, great width and look amazing vans. But they so often come with the sub-optimal running gear, much like the 2.2 & 2.0 USELESS engines so often found.

However,

The fiats often use IVECO’s 2.3L belt driven engine, but, once upon a blue moon, they can be found with the fantastic 3.0L chain driven engine installed, very rare, and known to be the best of the bunch within the Fiat/Peugeot/Citroen vans.

This van is blessed with said engine.

Bodywork and interior

As is typical with variety club buses, it does come in a stunning sky blue colour, in perfect condition with mint bumpers to match! If you wanted to build a camper out of this, it is really the ideal basevan for you, boasting great width and a very box-like body shape, when compared to its more curved Renault, Ford or Mercedes competitors.

LWB, and high roof, so like an apartment on wheels. Perfect for a camper, but for use as a minibus this van is still a great hit, with a total of 13 seats in the rear, aswell as a further 3 in the cab including the driver!

The driving position on these vehicles is like marmite… some people love it, some people hate it, for the latter, however, you very quickly forget about this once you are behind the wheel and find how perfect this thing drives!

The company was formed by young entrepreneur Rupert Beeston (Managing Director), who began his journey by buying ex ambulances, converting and selling on as motorhomes.

During University unable to carry out any conversions and repeat demand for his vehicles, a solution was found, supplying the base vehicles and showing his customers how to do the conversion themselves. The solution was www.BaseVan.com!

Warranty

This is a very important and unique aspect of our business.

During COVID when are business really took-off, we began using third party warranty providers such as the AA or Warranty wise. Which is so often adopted by dealers that don’t have the necessary facilities to satisfy the demands of second hand vehicle break-downs.

We found them to be very ineffective and unwilling on the whole, so being dissatisfied with this service we decided to look inwards. We invested further into our own facilities to ensure we could accommodate any issues with your vehicles in house. Resulting in better custom service given our ability to respond quicker and get you back on the road

We have even built accommodation for our full time van lifers in case of emergency! One step ahead, always.
